The story was retold in a 1993 movie starring Harrison Ford, but I've always had a special fascination with the old TV show starring somber-looking David Janssen as the beleaguered Dr. Richard Kimble. Because of circumstantial evidence Kimble was arrested and falsely accused of killing his wife. He managed to escape, then stayed on the run, narrowly eluding capture by his unrelenting adversary, Lieutenant Philip Gerard (played by Barry Morse). All the while, the fugitive was in constant pursuit of the one-armed man who had murdered Kimble's wife.",[14,32,33],{},"It was a gripping story, and my brothers and I were big fans of the show. We watched it faithfully every Tuesday night at 10:00 o'clock. The series' final season was filled with suspense as Lieutenant Gerard closed in on Kimble and Kimble closed in on the one-armed man. My brothers and I eagerly awaited the final episode scheduled for August 29, 1967. Finally the evening came, and our excitement grew as 10:00 approached.",[14,35,36],{},"And then at about 9:45, the unthinkable happened: Our parents made us go to bed. We begged and pleaded, but our mom, usually so sweet and accommodating, would not budge.",[14,38,39],{},"\"You don't understand,\" we insisted. \"We've been watching 'The Fugitive' for years, and this is the final episode!\"",[14,41,42],{},"\"I don't care.
